There are three ski resorts on the North Shore of Vancouver – Mt. Seymour, Cypress Mountain and Grouse Mountain. There is another in Agassiz (about 100 kms east of the city centre) – Hemlock Resort. You can make Whistler a daytrip, but it is a long drive.
Mountains in the southern interior include Kelowna’s Big White, Penticton’s Apex, Vernon’s Silver Star and Kamloops’s Sun Peaks. None are as famous as Whistler, but all are cheaper, less crowded and have better snow.
