Earth Hour is coming up, this Saturday, March 31st. As Vancouver is (or, at the very least, we like to think we are) an environmental leader, March 31st should be a big day.
Unsurprisingly BC Hydro is supporting Earth Hour and asking people to take this hour to think about how they can reduce their energy usage all year long – not a bad way to spend the time.
In Vancouver, nearly 30 restaurants are participating in Earth Hour by turning down the lights (or, preferably, off entirely) or serving raw food. Unfortunately, most of the restaurants are of the higher end variety, but if you ever wanted to go to any of these places, this Saturday is a great time.
So, head out to somewhere celebrating Earth Hour, or else light up the candles and enjoy the time living off the grid, even if it is only for an hour.
So, make sure you turn off your lights, between 8:30 and 9:30 on Saturday, March 31st!
